I’m not one for a heavy conversation or posting in the forums constantly as I was in the past. I was told many times in the past that I was considered to be one of those “well known” members, which I still find myself highly doubting. Since the changes of foo and some extremely busy life choices, I have found myself getting quieter and quieter. I could be on the forums for about two weeks and still not say a word. I guess you could call me the queen of lurking aha. Since those times ,I haven’t been pushing myself to keep my home well for a while. I used to have over a 300 day BB ,pets fed 2-3 times a day, and more. I considered my home the home of excellence. When I took that step back from foo I began to realize those things don’t really matter as much as we make them to be. I don’t feed my pets everyday…heck I rarely feed them since it takes so long. True, in retrospect that is probably awful on my part, but I don’t consider it a big deal since I am providing these pets with a forever home where they will not be traded or sold. Let me tell you how I came to this conclusion. I have seen many pets go through what we call an “excellent” home. You know, fed everyday, played with individually, given outrageous scenes, has a BB of 1,000 days. Yet, some of these homes will buy a pet one day and sell it for more profit the next ,and this happens day after day after day. Don’t get me wrong, there are some members with this criteria and DO keep their “forever home” promises but in experience I mostly (sadly by accident) end up choosing the home that does not. On the other hand, I have seen homes that are basically like me. Rarely feed their pets, they probably have a high BB because they are still active ever day (I don’t considering RL comes first so everyday is hard ,but for the most part I am on), and are seen to be a “bad” home. Yet, these homes keep their pets for long periods of time/forever (and not just because they are inactive like you might think…some of them are very active). I rather have an active member who doesn’t care for their pets everyday keep them forever as their prized pet over a member who seems to be the poster child of excellent and cant keep a pet longer than 24 hours. And while these may seem like drastic ends of the spectrum, I do understand that there are people in the middle or completely opposite. This is just my justification for the buying, selling, ect. from other members. This is my justification to why you shouldn’t judge my home based off a few labels. I consider myself very active, and missing 1-2 days a week not allowing me to have a BB doesn’t make me a bad home. Not feeding my pets doesn’t make me a bad home since every pet that I take in is a forever home pet. I don’t buy pets for rarity, I buy them because I actually want them. So before turning me down for what you see, read this.
